The WordPress Website Building Course for Non-Techies.

Learn how to build a WordPress website without getting stuck in complicated tech or code

Frustrating, isn’t it?

Everywhere you turn, whether it’s networking, shows, events, phone calls to prospects…. They all want to see your website.

Your online marketing efforts should point to your website so you look like a serious business.

Your business card should have your web address.

Prospects should be able to find you by doing an online search.

Having a professional website is a basic marketing tool that your potential customers and suppliers can check you out before they even make known to you they’re interested in doing business with you.

Let’s face it, your business can’t be taken seriously without a website. And a poorly designed website is even worse than no website.

So if you don’t have a spare few of thousand to pay a designer to build you one, then DIY is your only option.

But what if you’re not that technical and don’t really know where to start?

Here is the good news!

I’m Vee Tanner. I’m the Biz Tech Wiz and I help people like you create professional websites they love and online marketing systems that help them grow their businesses, even when they think they’re rubbish at tech!

I’m the creator of the Business Website Building Course for Non-Techies, an online training programme where I show you, step by step, how to build your first business website in 10 simple stages.

The Business Website Building Course for Non-Techies

This is for you if…

Z
You’ve just started your business on a shoe-string budget which means you haven’t got thousands to pay a web designer to build a website for you.
Z
You’re not techie but you are willing to learn how to build a website (if you can cut and paste and send emails, you can do this).
Z
You don’t want to spend months sifting the web for tutorials, half of which are out of date or give bad advice or are just difficult to follow.
Z
You just want someone who understands what is needed for a start-up business website and show and guide you how to build one in the easiest and simplest possible way, with no flannel or geek-speak so you can get your new website up and running quickly and get on with attracting and serving clients or selling products and making some money.

The Business Website Building Course for Non-Techies

The Business WordPress Website Building Course is for you if you’re starting a new business, aren’t too technical and want to be shown how to build your own website that’s both attractive and client converting in the simplest and easiest way.

You will have a professional website you built (without sweat, swearing, tears or having to learn coding) without engaging a web designer that attracts the right kinds of clients, buy from you again and again.

Each of the 10 modules is delivered through a series of short 5-10 minute videos where you literally sit on my shoulder watching me explain what I do so that you can pause and repeat what I’ve done.

With each module are links to my favourite resources and cheat sheets which makes the process of building your website even simpler and quicker.

And you’ll have access to my Private Facebook Group, Vee’s Web Builders Group, where you can ask questions at any time and get my answers and guidance.

PLUS you get all my insider pro-tips and best practice that, up to now, only my web clients have had access to.

"I built my first website in just 10 days"

I was very cynical about the course - would it be value for money? Would it give me what I needed? It delivered on all counts! I built my first website in 10 days and now have a website I can build on. Not only that, I would be happy to offer a basic website built to my clients."

The Modules

In this 10-part course you will learn

l

1. Planning Your Website

Before we start building anything, we will get up to speed on the latest and best practice of what works today online. We’ll cover the website anatomy and tech terms that are good to know and you’ll be able to tell instantly whether a website is good or bad. You’ll also plan yours with the help of my templates.

2. Domains & Hosting

What they are, the difference between the two, the must-have features to look for when choosing (hint – it’s not about the cheapest), and what you need to know about SSL! Don’t buy your domain or hosting without doing this module first. I’ll tell you what else to look for and if you follow my recommendation, you could have a domain name for free!

3. Installing a Blank Website

Without Coding! Hint, we’re using WordPress which is free forever and really easy to use once you know how. NEW: I’ll also show you how to get SSL, (you know, that padlock symbol in the address bar that google favours over sites that don’t have SSL).

4. Branding Your Website

I’ll show you how to turn your blank website into your brand – no coding knowledge required – shhh, don’t tell web designers about this because it’s ridiculously easy and they’ll hate me for revealing how easy it is.

5. Adding Content

How to add words, images and videos, what pages to have and what each page must have to make sure you get visitors staying and wanting more. I’ll also show you how to quickly check what your pages look like on mobile and tablet and what to do if they don’t quite look right.

6. SEO

SEO stands for 'Search Engine Optimisation' – I’ll show you how to optimise your website to give you the best chance of ranking on the first page of search engines. I’ll also tell you what NOT to do so that you don’t irretrievably damage your ranking.

~

7 Security

Very easy steps to keep your site safe from hackers, spammers and skimmers. I also show you how to manually back-up your site and apply updates to keep your site up to date.

8. Sales & Enquiries

How to create forms and making them enticing as well as GDPR compliant. This module also includes privacy policies and cookies (those pop up boxes that check you're happy to have cookies)

9. Analytics

You need to track what’s working (and what’s not) and you do that with Google Analytics. This module shows you how to install tracking code and then how to make sense of Google Analytics.

10. Repeat Customers

How to nurture interested's to be customers and how to get customers to buy again and again - hint this is utilising email marketing in a very elegant way.

t

Is there a limit to how many websites I can build?

Not at all. With this course you’ll be able to throw up a website on a whim and even build websites for others and charge for it. In fact other delegates have done this as an additional income stream to their businesses.

The re-launch price is £247.

Afterwards I will be putting the price up, because there’s so much valuable content and I know it’s worth much more, which means now’s a great time for you to get in.

t

Does it matter when I join?

Essentially, no it doesn't matter when you join. You can join anytime and work at your pace. Just be aware that my intention is to increase the price to £300 at the end of this year. So now is a good time to join and beat the price rise.
t

What if I have a question not covered in the course material?

First check the Facebook Group and see if I've answered the question for another delegate. If not, then post your question in the private Facebook Group. I’ll either guide you or do an update video training so that everyone benefits from the answer.
t

What other costs are involved?

There are costs associated with owning and running a website and email marketing. They include domain name and hosting, plus email marketing subscription.

DOMAIN AND HOSTING:

As a guide, the annual costs of a co.uk domain is around £7, and .com around £10. You’ll also need hosting which is around £35 per year (but I’ll show you how to get domain names included in hosting).

THEMES:

Themes decide the look and feel of your website and there are gazillions of themes to choose from, free and paid. In the course, I show you how to pick and customise a free theme and a premium theme (the premium theme costs $89/year or $249 for a lifetime license).

IMAGES:

Some stock images also have a small cost element, although I do share resources where you can find free and very low cost images. You might commission a photographer, in which case they will charge you for their services.

LOGO:

You also might want to get a logo designed, that will cost and costs will vary depending on who you choose to design it. I have a list of designers who I recommend if you are stuck.

NEWSLETTER TOOL:

In the course I use Constant Contact for setting up the sign up, autoresponder and newsletter tool and that costs £15+VAT per month. You could also use MailChimp which has a free plan (and I’ll show you how to set that up too).

"Everything explained so clearly"

“I found this course incredibly useful and really couldn’t have built my website without it.

I was constantly amazed at all the little tricks Vee knew. She really is a WordPress whiz but at the same time explains everything so clearly.

I would definitely recommend this course to anyone who needs help setting up their business website.”

"A new client picked me solely because they liked my website!"

When I decided to become a full-time VA, my main problem was that I didn’t have a website or the capital to invest in one (I know you can find cheap website packages but there have been too many disaster stories surrounding those deals and it’s definitely a case of ‘you get what you pay for’).

Ideally I wanted control over my own website too, but was completely out of my depth in terms of my technical ability so didn’t believe that I would ever be able to build one myself.

WRONG!

I took Vee's Biz Website Course and was amazed that over the course of 10 weeks I not only built myself a website that I was really happy with, but that I actually learnt a great deal about WordPress.

And guess what? Within a month I had already picked up a new client solely based on the strength of my website and ditto the following month (as I had not had time at that point to really promote myself).

The course was a real bargain when you not only get complete control over your website, but you have actually added a new skillset to your portfolio.

One of the best things about the course is that Vee has a dedicated Facebook Group, so is on hand to answer any questions you may have (and I asked a lot of questions!), which not only gives you the support you need but also helps to build your confidence. I really can’t recommend this course highly enough!

Thank you Vee, this course really has been invaluable to me!”

Who am I?

Vee Tanner – The Biz Tech Wiz

I’m Vee Tanner and I’m the Biz Tech Wiz. I’ve been building websites since 1997 when the internet was in its infancy and we used dial-up to access it. There were no training courses back then when the company I worked for (a global, multi-million turnover listed company) asked me to build their website. There were no training courses on web building at this time, so I had to figure it out for myself by trawling the internet and seeing what others were doing and how.

The bosses were so pleased with website I built that it was used as a showcase for the 30 subsidiaries they owned.

When I set my Virtual Admin business up in 2005 clients loved that I could build and tinker with their websites. I’ve since invested in online marketing training and am Constant Contact Core Certified and was a UK Authorised Local Expert for Constant Contact. I make it my business to keep up to date with what online marketing works for small business owners so I can implement that in the hundreds of websites I’ve created for various small businesses and solopreneurs in the past 22 years.

"I thoroughly recommend this course"

“Despite having set-up simple web sites on different platforms in the past, when I installed WordPress I was confused and daunted.

Having faffed for a while, I took the plunge and brought this course to get me up and running.

I’m so glad I did.

I very quickly became confident in the system and developed a site for my new business. Not only does it work, but it looks great too!

This simple step-by-step course allows you to progress at your own pace and de-mystifies the process.

I thoroughly recommend this course to anyone setting up their first WordPress site. Through saved time, it paid for itself many times over!”
